Robert McArthur Abstract Artist
I create fully human-made abstract art that fuses sculptural painting, mixed media, and abstract photography into a vivid, story-driven practice. My work moves between lava and ocean abstracts, cosmic whales and mermaids, sea turtles and fish, musical silhouettes, trees, dancers, and contemplative figures, but the intent is always the same: to translate energy, emotion, and transformation into color and texture. Fluid pours and marbling suggest magma, water, storms, and seismic motion, with reds and metallic golds carrying heat and intensity while blues, turquoises, and greens offer cooling balance. In my sculptural paintings, I build forms in relief with hand-crafted compounds and acrylics so whales, turtles, nudes, and musicians physically rise from the surface, catching light and inviting touch. Across the portfolio, I want viewers to feel that these human-made works are alive, lava still cooling, seas still swirling, stars still forming, so that living with the art becomes an ongoing, imaginative experience.
